Why GreytCrafts?

The following is the original "story" of how I came up with GreytCrafts.  So much has changed.  It is now the middle of January and KayLee's pins are out -- ALL of them.  The only thing left for us to do is sign the paperwork and she is 'ours'.

Below is a photo of our two greyhounds.  The Fawn is Merlin who is 7 years old and was retired in 2003 after breaking his leg in a race.  The Blue Brindle is KayLee who is our newest (shhh ... she's not officially ours until those pins come out in January) and still recuperating from a broken leg.

This past summer, we learned just how important adoption group volunteers are.  For the first time since we've owned (or should I say 'been owned by') greyhounds (1999) we needed their help.  Merlin found the front gate opened and decided to go for an unaccompanied walk.  Terrified, I called our local contacts for help, and they were there for us.  We were very fortunate to not need them in an all out search.  Merlin found his way back home after a 45 minute adventure.

That day changed us forever.  These people really do a ton for these dogs, and we've never even offered to help out.   Sure, we've gone to the meet and greets, but there's so much more to greyhound adoption.  We want to help out even more.  So, I'm starting GreytCrafts, which officially opened January 1, 2008.  Ten percent (10%) of each sale will be donated to our local chapter of Greyhound Pets of America: GPA-Arizona.
